Welcome

...to a place where midlife isn't a crisis, it's a comedy.

Hi, my name is Lauren.  I’m just an ordinary woman trying to navigate my way through the wild, mysterious and increasingly saggy world of midlife, armed with nothing but caffeine and wine, and an overwhelming desire to make the next chapter of my life genuinely meaningful.

Here, I'll be sharing the full midlife experience: the wins, the failures (of which there will be many), and all the funny, awkward, heart-warming moments in between.

If you’re looking for someone who has her shit together, you’re in the wrong place.  This is not that kind of blog.  Oh no.  This is the real deal, chin hairs and all.  Nothing will be off-limits as I journey through perimenopause, weight struggles and winkles.  Not to mention the occasional mental break down and the questioning of every decision I've ever made throughout my life so far.

I’m looking to embrace midlife, not as a slow steady decline into chaos, but a chance to re-align, laugh and grow.

I would love you to join me.  Let's make midlife meaningful.  Let's make it joyful.  Let's make it a series of hilarious stories we'll one day share with each other over a bottle of wine (or two).

ABOUT ME

I am a working professional, divorced mother of two teenager girls, and partner of one incredibly, patient man.  I live in a leafy suburban suburb of Melbourne, Victoria with my family and fur-baby, Frankie the Groodle (the real boss of the household).

I ended up here, like you, approaching midlife and finding myself simply going through the motions.  What happened to my spark?  And why did I never seem to have any time or energy to invest in myself anymore?

Somewhere between work, parenting and washing (oh so much washing), I started losing myself.  I became fat and tired and was quickly running out of fucks to give.

Surely, there has to be a better way of midlifing.  And I'm detirmined to find it.

My Mission

Midlifing With Meaning is dedicated to fellow midlifers who are looking to squeeze a little extra meaning, joy, and sanity out of the everyday...

Follow me throughout 2026 as I focus on ways to improve my quality of life.

I'm here to test-drive it all, from to HRT to boundary-setting to bra fitting.  Think of me as your crash-test dummy, willing to try it all so that you don't have to.

My hope is to discover a few new hacks that make life that little bit smoother, lighter, or at least mildly less unhinged.

2026 goals

January:

Making sure that everything on the inside is still working properly

Think less glow-up, more roadworthy certificate,  The logical place to start is a complete health check, a full internal inspection to see what's still running smoothly and what's being held together with mere hope and panadol.
